After two good performances, team Europe couldn’t keep the upward trent.

In nine innings they were outscored 9-0 and outhit 14-5.

Where they were more or less still in the game at the end of the eighth inning, trailing 5-0, the final blow was dealt in the top of the ninth.

Pitcher Lukas Dickmann gave up a bases loaded single to left fielder Lin Shengyi that drove in two runs. After that, Dickmann gave up another walk to load the bases before he allowed another single to center field, hit by Chaoyou Ning, that drove in two more runs.

The Taiwanese pitching was practically unhittable for the Europeans. None of the Taiwanese pitchers lasted longer than two innings. The five hits that they collected were hit by Freddy Noguera (1 for 3), Sebastiano Poma (1 for 2), Kevin Weijgertse (1 for 3), Urving Kemp (1 for 1) who entered the game as a pinch hitter and Maik Ehmcke (1 for 4).

Starting pitcher Javier Sanchez lasted three innings in which he gave up three runs on four hits and walked three. His replacement Daniel Thieben lasted 1.2 innings. Thieben gave up two runs on two hits and he walked three as well. Milvio Andreozzi, Kruno Gojkovic and Bryan Sheldon kept Chinese Taipei in check as they allowed respectively one, one and two hits.

Thanks to this result, the record of Europe fell to one win, four losses and two ties.
