Dutchies in the Minor Leagues, Saturday April 11

Several Dutches played again yesterday. Here is an overview of those who saw action.

AAA

Roger Bernadina is still without a basehit. Yesterday he got a pinch hit appearance in the Isotopes 7-3 loss vs the Aces. Roger grounded out in a kind of curious play: 3-4-3-4.

AA

The Bowie BaySox won a close one vs the Richmond Flying Squirrels: 7-6. Sharlon Schoop got one basehit from six at bats. He struck out once and drove in a run with his sole single.

In the Harrisburg Senators’ 4-1 over the Altroona Curve, Randolph Oduber drew a walk but didn’t manage to collect a hit out of three at bats.

Christopher Garia went 0 for 4 and struck out twice in the RoughRIders 4-0 loss vs the Arkansas Travelers. The RoughRiders collected only three hits as a team in this game.

A Advanced

John Polonius was placed on the seven day Disabled List by the San Jose Giants. The news item did not tell why.

In a very low scoring and low hitting game, Spencer Kieboom wasn’t one of the Nationals that got a basehit. He went 0 for 2. But on the birght side, Spencer threw out Clint Frazier when he tried to steal second base.

A Full Season

Ozhaino Albies got his first basehit of the new season. In the 5-3 loss of the Rome Braves vs the Asheville Tourists, he drew a walk after he scored the first run of the Braves in the bottom of the fourth inning. One inning later he got his first basehit in the South Atlantic League and stole a base right after it. But that did not lead to another run.

The Lake County Captains were beaten by the Lansing Lugnuts 2-3. Sicnarf Loopstok went 0 for 1, was hit by a pitch and drew a lead off walk in the top of the seventh inning that eventually led to a run.

Like many teams yesterday in the Midwest League, the Beloit Snappers and the Clinton LumberKings played a double header. In game one the Snappers’ Shawn Duinkerk went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs batted in. Gianfranco Wawoe didn’t collect a hit in two at bats, but he drew two walks, struck out once and scored a run. The LumberKings won 5-4. Game two was also won by Clinton. Gianfranco Wawoe did not play but Shawn Duinkerk did. He went 1 for 3 and struck out once.
